This is just an update to let you know that the Captain Slinky Presents Oddmall Emporium of The Weird SPRUNG 2026 Art, Craft & Gaming Show is coming to the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA the weekend of April 18-19! 10am till 6pm on Saturday, 10am till 5pm on Sunday! Make plans NOW!!!
As always, both admission AND parking are on us so you’ll have more money in your pocket to spend on the wonderful treasures our vendors are bringing to tempt you with! Heck, even if you DON’T spend any money, come on down and win some prizes, play some games, and see wondrous art that will make you ask at least 27 questions!

We hand out THOUSANDS of these over the course of the weekend because we use them to send people on QUESTS for their Door Prizes! Plus, it features exclusive artwork by artist CHAD SCHERES (Topps “Wacky Packages”, “Garbage Pail Kids”, etc) so of course this will become a highly sought-after collectable that folks will send off to a grading company so it can be encased in plastic and labeled “9.8” till the day they sell it for a bajillion dollars – AND YOU WILL BE A PART OF THAT LEGACY!!!
We have two levels of advertising available this time around, so everyone can afford to be a part of this momentous occasion! We have the classic 2″x2″ Full Color Outer Square (back and outside of the map) for the traditional $30, and then we also have the new 1.5″x1.5″ Full Color Interior Square (header and footer of the actual Map and Vendor Directory). Buy one! Buy them ALL!
You don’t have to be a vendor or a business or even serious – as long as it’s not Politics, Religion or Pornography, we’ll put it on our map! All ads will be judged on our “Don’t Be A Dick” before we accept it, and if we WON’T print it we’ll reach out and let you know why, try and rework it so we can print it!

There’s a lot of confusion about the whole Application Process for Oddmall Vendors, so I figured I should write it out in a post that I can point at rather than typing it over and over and over again
STEP 1: STARTING INVENTORY. At every Oddmall, we offer the vendors the opportunity to purchase a space for the next Oddmall show; they have “Dibs”. They can pay in cash at the show, or pay online up to 3 days before we open applications to new vendors. We have between 40%-75% of our sales this way. This time around, we pre-sold 83 out of the 170 available spaces. That’s roughly 50% of the spaces before we even look at an application!
STEP 2: APPLICATIONS. We accept applications for new vendors for a week OR till we have over 150 applications, whichever comes first. We do our darndest to post on a daily basis during this time across Facebook, Instagram, BluSky and Threads PLUS send notifications via our newsletter to make sure everyone has ample chance to go fill out an application, and we announce when we close the applications.
STEP 3: FIRST PASS. We go through all the applications and pick out the ones we KNOW we won’t be approving for one reason or another; already too many vendors that are selling the same category of stuff, too “Adult”, too “Vanilla”, MLM, Pyramid Scheme, Drop Shippers, etc. Rejection notes go to them.
STEP 4: OBVIOUS CHOICES. During The First Pass, we will have marked all the applications that are just obviously too awesome to not be in Oddmall; Stuff we’ve literally never seen anywhere else, vendors we have poached from other shows (shameless!), stuff we REALLY want a chance to buy and bringing them to OUR Oddmall might be our only chance… Acceptance Letters go to as many of those folks as we have spaces available.
STEP 5: THE GRIND. Every day that we DON’T sell out of spaces entirely, we send another two or three “Obvious Choice” vendors acceptance letters. We also start grouping the Obvious Choice vendors into categories of what they sell so we don’t end up over-saturating with one type of vendor, and we start approving folks based mostly on what kind of vendor I want in a space rather than just any vendor regardless of what they do.
STEP 6: ENDGAME. Once we have just 5 or 6 spaces left, we look at the amount of Approved Applications we still have out there that haven’t paid and make a few posts about how we’re really down to the nitty-gritty here and those outstanding vendors might not get in! We usually time this around one or two vendors who have been approved and they contacted us to say something like “Aww jeez can I pay on Friday?” so we make a post saying “Okay, if we still have spaces come Saturday Morning, we’re approving more vendors!”
STEP 7: REMNANTS. Once we have filled all the spaces, we send rejection letters to everyone that’s left to let them know they’re definitely good enough for Oddmall, we just ran out of room!
The Captain Slinky Application Approval Machine is fired up and ready to go! We approve new vendors in batches, so if/when you get your acceptance email GO PAY ASAP! APPROVAL DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A VENDOR SPACE! We approve more vendors than we have space for!
Why?
Because people are human and things happen. Some people forget the applied. Some people’s approval letters will get helpfully sorted to the Spam folder. Some people have life-altering events happen that make paying for a space at a craft show REAL LOW on their list of priorities. And some people will just keep saying “Ooof, that’s right, I need to go pay that” till the weekend after Oddmall.
Meanwhile, there are a couple hundred OTHER applicants that are ready to go! They’re rabid to get in! LAST CALL FOR NEW APPLICANTS! We will close the new vendor applications on FRIDAY, JANUARY 16th, so we can start the arduous task of approving and denying all weekend long! You can apply at http://www.oddmall.co/application to make sure we get a good look at what you’re offering! We get A LOT of applications so we can be pretty darned choosy over who gets in, so make sure to show us your weirdest, bestest stuff! There are four categories of vendors that REALLY need to do whatever they can to stand out from the crowd:
3D PRINTERS: Unless you’re creating your own sculpts and/or have a distinct product from all the others out there, we’re likely to say No.
TEMU RESELLER: Temu and Ali Express have a lot of wacky stuff that is easy to pass off as “Hand Made”. I am a Temu Addict. I know Temu when I see it. Unless you’ve done something FANTASTIC with it, we’re likely to say No.
“A Little Bit Of Everything”: This one is just a vibe, because SO MANY PEOPLE watch You Tube videos titled things like “10 Things That Will Make You Rich At Craft Shows In 2026” or “I Make $3,000 A Month Selling These Simple Crafts”. Some people watch those and get inspired for things with their own spin on them, others say “Oh man, I DO Live! AND I laugh! And I LOVE! I need those words on a Dollar Tree Coffee Mug for $15!” – It’s all about a cohesive vibe.
“I Swear It’s Not A.I.”: Unfortunately, a lot of people buy giant packs of art online to put on notebooks, tumblers, mugs, pens, and anything else they can buy blanks of. The seller of the art claims it’s all original, no A.I., all real art. That is a lie. It’s all VERY OBVIOUSLY A.I. and I’m really sorry you got scammed but we don’t want it at Oddmall 😦
